A 16-year-old girl will be facing a drug charge along with her 27-year-old boyfriend after both of them were arrested inside a Tagbilaran City lodge during a drug buy-bust operation.

The minor is set to be charged today before the Tagbilaran City Prosecutor’s Office for drug possession in violation of Article II Section 11 of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The 16-year-old’s boyfriend, Jerebie Sagarino will face criminal complaints for violating Sections 11, 5 (drug sale) and 12 (possession of drug paraphernalia) of Section II of the RA.

Both suspects were allegedly caught in possession of 20 packets of shabu worth P75,000 while Sagarino sold P1,000 worth of the substance to an undercover Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) operative on Thursday dawn.

Hours prior to the arrest, the PDEA found out that Sagarino was selling illegal drugs out of a rented room inside a lodge in Barangay Taloto, Tagbilaran City prompting them to set up the sting operation.

While in Cebu, a police crime laboratory on Thursday confirmed that the seized substances from Sagarino and his girlfriend were methamphetamine or shabu.
