Ferry passengers across Bohol were stranded after Storm Signal Number 1 was hoisted over the entire province at 7 a.m. on Thursday, said the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG).

According to Seaman 2nd Class Daryl Lambot of PCG Tubigon, all sea trips in the province have been cancelled due to Tropical Storm Vinta.

Lambot said that around 320 passengers were stranded at the Tubigon port.

Further updates from PAGASA are still being awaited by the PCG on whether or not ferry operations in the city will resume later in the day.

According to Gonzales, fastcrafts of 2GO and Oceanjet were able to depart from Tagbilaran City going to Cebu early this morning before the PCG received the storm signal advisory at around 8 a.m.

In a bulletin issued at 9:20 a.m., state weather bureau PAGASA warned of heavy rains and strong winds due to expected thunderstorms over Bohol.

PAGASA highlighted that thunderstorms are projected to affect the towns of Tubigon, Clarin, Catigbian, Bilar, Batuan, Carmen and Sierra Bullones within an hour of the advisory’s release. (Allen Doydora)
