A group of Duterte supporters with nationwide membership is set to hold a two-day forum on federalism as support for the administration’s aggressive drive towards the shift into a federal system of government.
According to Romeo Melecio, chairman of the pro-Duterte group’s Central Visayas chapter, they are expecting 10 Cabinet members to attend the event which will be held at the Bohol Cultural Center in Tagbilaran City on April 7 to 8.
The group which calls itself Mayor Rodrigo Roa Duterte-National Executive Coordinating Committee invited Department of Agrarian Reform Sec. John Castriciones Land Bank board of director Jesus Hinlo, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority Sec. Guilling Mamondiong to join the event.
Several undersecretaries and other government officials, both national and local, were also asked to attend, said Melecio.
He claimed that around 10,000 people from Bohol, Cebu, Siquijor and Negros Oriental are expected to join the convention.
During the same event, new members of the group will also take oath, Melecio added.
Melecio who was in Bohol Friday paid courtesy calls to Governor Edgar Chatto, Mayor John Geesnell Yap and ex-officio Board Member Romulo Cepedoza.
He also personally invited the officials to attend the forum. (R. Tutas)
