Two male teenagers were arrested at a police checkpoint after they were allegedly caught in possession of pieces of dried marijuana leaves in Baclayon on Friday night.
The suspects, both marine engineering college students and residents of Danao town, were identified by police as Fred Doroy, 18, and Albert Doroy, 19.
In a report, police indicated that the suspects were on board a motorcycle when they were about to pass through the security checkpoint at a provincial road in Barangay Landican, Baclayon.
The motorcycle reportedly slowed down while the passenger was spotted throwing something away as they approached the authorities.
Police immediately examined the thrown object and found out that it was a pack which contained suspected marijuana leaves.
According to authorities, both suspects were arrested and taken to the Baclayon Police Station.
They are now detained at the Baclayon police’s lock-up jail while charges for illegal drug possession are set to be filed against them. (wm)
