The University of Bohol (UB) College of Midwifery is set to administer a general aptitude test to those interested in taking a midwifery course for school year 2018-2019 and avail of a scholarship.
The initiative will be launched in line with the Department of Health (DOH) Scholarship Program for Bachelor of Science in Midwifery (BSM).
According to the DOH, the program provides a two-year midwifery scholarship grant to qualified applicants in partnership with midwifery schools.
DOH’s program was designed in line with the Millenium Development Goals to decrease maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality rate by producing “constant supply of consistent competent midwives.”
For her part, Dean Maria Lourdes B. Lañada of UB said that the test covers, Part 1: Science Proficiency Test – General Science and Part 2: Basic Math and Numerical and English Proficiency with Verbal Aptitude.
Interested regular students can take the aptitude test which is scheduled every Wednesday of the week from 9:00 to 3:00 o’clock at the Experimental Psychology Laboratory, 2nd floor Founder’s Building, said Lañada.
Applicants can file their application at the UB College of Midwifery Dean’s Office with the following supporting requirements; Application Form (available at the dean’s office), High School/Senior High School Card, Certificate of Good Moral Character from the school graduated, Photocopy of Birth Certificate or NSO, Examination Fee of P200 (to be paid at thetreasurer’s office), 3 pcs. 2 x2 colored or black & white picture, and long brown envelope.
This year’s examination dates are as follows: March 17, 14, 21 and 28; April 4, 11, 18 and 25; May 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30; June 6, 13, and 20. For inquiries please contact Dean Lañada at cel. no. 09186519183.
