An 83-year-old man died after he was accidentally hit by a motorcycle driven by a male minor along the Taloto Coastal Road in Tagbilaran City on Monday morning.
Victim Fidel Paonat, a resident of Barangay Taloto, was still rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries a few hours after reaching the health facility.
Based on police investigation, Paonat was about to ride a multicab when a speeding Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Marc Calatrava, 17, rammed him from the side.
Paonat fell to the ground and sustained injuries in his head and various parts of his body.
Meanwhile, Calatrava crashed and suffered cuts and bruises.
Both were rushed to the hospital by TaRSIER 117 personnel.
While Calatrava was treated for his injuries, Paonat was declared dead in the afternoon of the same day.
According to police, Calatrava was not in possession of a driver’s license during the accident while his motorcycle had no plate number.
