There is an inside story about the Senate expose of the vanishing load among pre paid cell phone subscribers.

This story was recounted by a seminar lecturer.

If you would recall, there was once a Senate investigation into the vanishing loads among cellphone users.

Actually, the chair of the Senate Committee at that time, the “sickly” yet powerful senator was supposedly “victimized” by the vanishing load in one of his phones.

(Question: Why would a senator have a pre-paid phone? Hmmm).

The senator supposedly loaded P300 in his pre paid phone.

The following day, the lawmaker was surprised why all of the pre paid load of his phone were gone.

This is a common complaint among many prepaid subscribers.

So this investigation was warmly received by the public.

Since, as the lecturer said, the senator needed famliarization with telecom laws, he went to see him, being a lawyer from the telecom industry, to talk to the senator.

The lecturer said he interviewed the senator, to ascertain possible reasons why P300 of load suddenly disappeared.

The senator told him, he didn’t use his prepaid phone that would cause its total consumption.

He also assured that none of his bodyguards to whom he entrusted his prepaid phone ever used it.

After discovering that the senator had entrusted his prepaid phone to one of his bodyguards, he secretly interviewed them.

He asked the body guards, “Are you sure this phone wasn’t ever used, to consume the senator’s prepaid load?”

The bodyguard’s response (in Tagalog) was, sir we never really thought the senator would complain, or would even notice the use of  a ‘measely’ P300 worth of prepaid phone loads.

Actually, the guards  “gave out” the prepaid loads in terms of “pasa loads” to their spouses, girlfriends, families, among others.

That was why all of the senator’s prepaid loads “vanished”, causing a senate investigation.
