Two Bohol-based police officers were among at least 20 cops accused of bashing Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Oscar Albayalde on social media.

This was confirmed Thursday by two sources including Tagbilaran City Police Station (TCPS) chief Supt. Patricio Degay.

According to Degay, one of those who criticized Albayalde on the Facebook page “Buhay Lespu” was a police officer 1 of the TCPS.

The newbie cop was reassigned to the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao Police Regional Office (PRO-ARMM) along with some of the other bashers of the country’s top cop.

Degay however lamented the reassignment, noting that the transferred officer was among the station’s better performers.

Meanwhile, another official who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that a senior police officer 2 under the Bohol Provincial Police Office’s Aviation Security Group also bashed Albayalde online.

The police officer was also reassigned to the PRO-ARMM, the source said.

Chief Supt. John Bulalacao, PNP spokesperson, earlier said that the deployment of the cops to Mindanao was not carried out as punishment.

In the past however President Duterte ordered the reassignment of erring police officers to Mindanao including war-torn Basilan.

Albayalde’s bashers were earlier tracked down by cops specializing in information technology through the Buhay Lespu Facebook page.

The bashers questioned Albayalde’s capacity to lead the 190,000-strong police force.

Albayalde was also criticized after he conducted surprise inspections at several police stations in Metro Manila while he was still director of the National Capital Region Police Office.

The policemen accused Albayalde of scoring media mileage by berating cops in front of members of media after they were caught napping and not doing their jobs while on duty. (rt)
