A woman has been arrested for allegedly hacking her husband dead inside their house in Barangay Dasitam, Baclayon.
The suspect, identified as Sixta Piguet is set to be charged with parricide on Monday.
According to PO3 Jesenel Libonpasil, Sixta hacked her husband Nicodemos Piguet, 59, repeatedly with a bolo hitting him in various parts of his body including his head.
Sixta told authorities that she had no intention of killing her husband but she was carried away by her emotions.
“Ang iyang [Sixta] gi-ingon nga mura ra unta og iya rang patagamon, pero mao nalay iyang nahibaw-an nga nahinaykan na niya og maayo. Wa na siya kahibaw og unsay iyang gibuhat kay ang sa iyang huna-huna tigbas ug tigbas lang gyud siya. Og sa atoa pang sinultian, nga murag nayawaan,” said Libonpasil.
Sixta also claimed that she was a victim of constant physical abuse from her husband, particularly on instances when Nicomedes went home drunk.
“Ang iyang rason kono nga halos kada adlaw siya awayon, mao to nga kadto nga time nga murag wana kono siya kapugong sa iyang gibati mao tong nakapunit siya og sundang,” Libonpasil added.
According to Libonpasil, Sixta immediately surrendered to authorities following the incident.
