A total of 129 police officers and employees assigned to the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) headquarters at Camp Francisco Dagohoy in Tagbilaran City tested negative for illegal drug use.
All of the BPPO personnel who were tested, including nine commissioned officers, 117 non-commissioned officers and three non-uniformed personnel, showed no traces of methamphetamine or shabu and tetrahydrocannabinol, the main active ingredient in cannabis.
According to Chief Inspector Rully Lauron of the Police Community Relations Branch, 50 women and 79 men were subjected to the surprise drug testing which was held on October 29.
BPPO director Senior Superintendent Angeles Geñorga was not included in the testing but his deputies were tested, said Lauron.
The surprise testing was part of the internal cleansing of the Philippine National Police’s ranks as ordered by its chief Director Gen. Oscar Albayalde, he added.
In August, 272 BPPO police officers tested negative for traces of illegal drugs. (RT)
