Police on Monday morning arrested a convent worker of the Saint Augustine Parish in Panglao for alleged drug possession within the Church’s compound in Barangay Poblacion.
In a report, authorities said that Celestino Abrugana, a temporary resident of the Saint Augustine convent, was spotted by police receiving a sachet of shabu from one Eric Estolgo, an alleged drug dealer who is a member of the town’s police auxiliary force, a team tasked as force multipliers for the regular police.
Police noted that Abrugana is a native of Villahermoso in Carmen while Estologo is from Looc, Panglao.
Estolgo, on board a motorcycle, allegedly saw the two police officers who were conducting a mobile patrol near the Church prompting him to flee, authorities said.
Abrugana however was cornered and apprehended by police who found in his possession a small sachet of shabu taped to a lighter.
He was then placed under the custody of the Panglao police.
Meanwhile, authorities prepared to file a case against him for violating Section 11 Article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 or possession of illegal drugs. (wm)
