A still unidentified man, who authorities described to be aged “60 to 70,” was killed in an apparent hit-and-run road incident in Jagna town.
According to SPO3 Stephen Aceron, the fatality’s body was discovered by residents along the national road in Barangay Cantagay at past 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
The man was seen sprawled on the road but no vehicle was spotted in the area.
A vehicle’s side mirror was found near the victim’s body, Aceron said.
Authorities believe that the side mirror may have been part of the hit-and-run suspect’s vehicle.
Personnel of the TaRSIER 117 rushed the victim to the Teodoro Galagar Memorial Hospital in Jagna but was declared dead on arrival.
The man suffered severe injuries to his head causing his death, Aceron said.
Police meanwhile continued their investigation on the case and are waiting for the victim’s family to claim the remains at the hospital. (A. Doydora)
