At least 20 carwash businesses, including those that cater exclusively to motorcycles, in Tagbilaran City are operating illegally without permits, said the city’s Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO).
According to BPLO chief Samuel Belderol, operators of the illegal establishments have been notified and summoned by the Tagbilaran government but continued to conduct business.
Belderol made the announcement following a complaint raised by a concerned citizen through station dyRD indicating that a carwash in the city has caused inconvenience to their community.
Used water from the carwash was allegedly just allowed to flow out to the village’s streets.
Belderol noted that the said carwash, which he did not identify, was also violating the zoning ordinance or the Comprehensive Land Use Plan of the city.
However, he said that some of carwash businesses started to comply with the ordinance while others have stopped operations. (rt)
