Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) director Senior Superintendent Angeles Geñorga on Tuesday said that he has not received a directive for reassignment from his current post ahead of the end of his supposed two-year tenure as the province’s top cop.

“Wala pa namang ganyang info sa akin,” said Geñorga amid the surfacing of unconfirmed reports indicating the senior police official’s imminent transfer.

Geñorga’s looming reassignment has purportedly been set in motion due to politics based on unverified accounts.

Geñorga has been the police chief of Bohol since January, 2018. Most provincial police directors serve for at least two years.

According to Geñorga, he is ready to comply with any directive issued by the Philippine National Police (PNP) command.

“Whatever the order from our higher command is, I will follow po,” he said.

However, possible reassignment of other PNP personnel is also imminent nationwide due to the nearing elections.

“Wala pa pong order na ganyan. Ang sabi ko nga po ay hanggang January 12 ay pwede pa pong mag transfer kung may mga desisyon pong manggaling sa taas,” he added.

Police personnel who have relatives running in their area of responsibility during the 2019 midterm elections are to be temporarily transferred to avoid partiality based on a Commission on Elections mandate.

Previously, now-Chief Supt. Felipe Natividad who directly preceded Geñorga ended his term as Bohol police chief after only 18 months.

Natividad was promoted to a more sensitive post at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame.

His transfer was also reportedly requested by PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde. (A. Doydora)
