Two signboards posted outside the home of an alleged high-value drug target in Tagbilaran City and apparently addressed to law enforcers cite the law in pointing out the requisite and violations in the issuance of search warrants.

A high-value drug suspect who appeared to be well aware of his rights—particularly against unlawful searches by the authorities—evaded arrest during a police anti-drug operation in Tagbilaran City on Sunday.

Police said that operatives who were about serve a search warrant against Orlando “Pasmo” Labadan for a drug charge were met by signboards outside his home in Barangay Taloto which cited the law regarding requisites and violations during raids.

“Remember: The Constitution and the rules of the court require a search warrant to avoid any unreasonable search by the authorities. No search shall also be made without the presence of the lawful occupants, or in their absence two witnesses to prevent the planting of evidences [sic],” the sign said.

Police noted that Labadan’s home was also monitored by a closed-circuit television camera.

Labadan was not present during the raid but operatives allegedly found 13 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of P88,400 and drug paraphernalia inside his house.

Authorities are set to file appropriate charges against him.

Earlier, agents of the National Bureau of Investigation in Bohol arrested Labadan for illegal possession of a firearm and drugs.

He however posted bail for his temporary liberty. (AD)
