Philippine Gift of Life Foundation President/Chief Executive Officer Francisca Baluyot received new medicine donation for another special surgical mission dubbed the Operation Giving Back Bohol Mission (OGBBM) on February 20-27.

This year’s OGBBM will again be performed by a team of doctors, allied medical workers and nurses from the different States of America –  doctors from Southern Illinois, New Jersey, California, Florida, Arizona, West Virginia, Washington DC, Utah and Massachusetts, all in the United States.

The mission will be headed by Dr. Renato Rivera along with a Philippine team headed by Dr. Kazan Baluyot.

The operation will be conducted at the Borja Family Hospital thru Dr. Melinda Borja and hospital administrator Dr. Pepe Borja.

Cases for operation include thyroidectomies (goiter), TAHBSO (myoma), cholecystectomy (gallbladder), cyst, hernia, breast cyst and other special cases.

Nestor Lumanas, manager of the Manila-based Sannovex Pharmaceuticals, gave the medicines to Dr. Kazan Baluyot, MD FPCC, FPCP, who is a consultant of the Gift of Life.

The medicines include Cefuroxime Sodium CEFUVEX 750MG, Hydrocortisone HYDROVEX 100mg , Omeprazole OMEVEX 40mg, Furosemide FUROSAN 10mg/2ml, Ampicillin Sodium AMPIVEX 500mg, Piperacillin + Tazabactam TAZOVEX 2.25g and Cefazolin Sodium CEFAVEX 1g.

Lumanas, a Boholano from Cortes, is a brother of the late Rev. Fr. Marlon Lumanas.

The annual February mission is special because it will mark the twin birthday celebrations of Gov. Edgar Chatto and Dr. Rivera, who always extend their gratitude thru the conduct of the life-changing mission.

The Gift of Life president/chief executive officer is the governor’s medical mission consultant.
