Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 director Chief Supt. Debold Sinas reminded police officers in Bohol not to interfere with political matters as the midterm polls draw near.
According to Sinas who was in Bohol Friday last week, cops caught being partial or supporting a candidate will be dismissed from the service.
“Walay mag-security, mag-escort og mga VIP’s ug candidates nga dili cleared sa Comelec, way laing penalty kondi dismissal,” said Sinas.
Sinas ordered the Bohol police force to focus its efforts in securing voting precincts.
He also reminded cops not to leave their assigned posts, noting that they are no longer allowed to vote on Election Day.
“If mag-deploy na, dili nato i-abandon atong post, bantayan nato ang polling precints, voting precints og aha nabutang, dili pwede moadto sa’ko kay mobotar,” he added.
Sinas was in Bohol for the graduation of police officers who completed a Scene of the Crime Operatives or SOCO course.
He also oversaw a surprise drug testing for cops of the Tagbilaran City Polcie Station and Bohol Provincial Police Office headquarters in Camp Francisco Dagohoy.
Around 380 police personnel were included in the drug testing.
Sinas following the surprise drug test reminded police officers to refrain from taking protection money from individuals or groups involved in illegal drug trade, smuggling and illegal gambling. (R. Tutas)
