Boholana beauty queen Karen Gallman on Monday arrived in Bohol for her first visit to the province after winning in January the Miss Intercontinental crown for the Philippines for the first time since the pageant’s inception in 1971.
Gallman was warmly welcomed by supporters at the Bohol Panglao International Airport in Panglao town during her arrival at 3:50 p.m.
The 26-year-old Ubay native is in the province for her homecoming sponsored by the town’s local government unit under Mayor Constan Reyes and Second District Rep. Aris Aumentado.
Gallman in a brief interview with media admitted that she was not expecting a welcoming party at the airport. She was greeted by select Panglao students and teachers, and Aumentado’s camp which included his wife, Vanessa.
“It’s just so overwhelming, I didn’t expect this today. It’s always good to be back in Bohol,” Gallman said.
Homecoming activities for Gallman are set to be conducted in Ubay on Tuesday.
She will be flying back to Manila on Wednesday. (RT)
