A 19-year-old man who was driving a motorcycle died on Wednesday while his passenger was severely injured after their vehicle crashed in Trinidad on late Tuesday.

Police identified the fatality as Leonel Progella while his injured passenger was identified as Mariolito Auxtero, 18, both of Barangay Poblacion, Bien Unido.

In a report, police said that the victims were travelling from Barangay San Isidro, Talibon and were heading home when Progella suddenly lost control of the motocycle.

The vehicle then crashed along sharp turn in Trinidad town.

Progella suffered severe injuries to his head while Auxtero sustained a wound in his head and a broken chest.

Both were rushed to a nearby hospital but were later transferred to the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran City.

Auxtero continued to be treated but Progella succumbed to his injuries. (ad)
