A Surigao City-based shipping firm has recently launched daily sea trips between Talibon and Cebu City.
According to Atlantis Yohan Express Corporation liaison officer Menard Castillo, the company’s M/V Yohan Green started to ply the Talibon-Cebu route on April 16.
The fast craft departs from the Talibon port to Pier 3 in Cebu City at 7 a.m. and leaves Cebu for Talibon at 4 p.m. A one-way trip between the two destinations is two hours and 20 minutes long.
Castillo said that the vessel, built at a shipyard in General Santos City, is brand new.
“Brand new yan, kakalabas lang…286 yung capacity natin,” he said, noting that the shipping firm builds its own vessels.
A one-way trip on the vessel costs P400, P320 and P280 for business, tourist and economy classes, respectively.
Atlantis Yohan has been servicing the Getafe-Cebu City route since last year using the company’s M/V Yohan Blue vessel.
According to Castillo, the company is still testing waters in terms of marketability of other destinations in Bohol.
“Yung operation manager nandiyan lang yan sa Cebu, possible nag-monitor na yun, magsasabi nalang yun sa management kung ano talaga ang plano nila,” he said. (A. Doydora)
