UBAY. All roads lead to this busting municipality as it celebrates Friday the Feast of Her Patron, the Holy Child Jesus.
Second district representatives Erico Aristotle C. Aumentado will join the local officials led by Mayor Galicano S. Atup and Vice Mayor Nelson L. Uy in welcoming fiesta revelers from all walks of life including the balikbayans.
Msgr. Daniel Patrick Y. Parcon, Bishop of Talibon will be the main celebrant of the Pontifical Mass to start at 9:30 in the morning. Some 30 visiting priests are expected to join the concelebration, said Rev. Fr. Gilbert Añana, the new Parish Priest.
On the other hand, the first cultural/social presentation during the Novernario was the Variety Show sponsored by the Alturas Group of Companies then followed by the coronation of the festival King and Queen and the Festival of Dances by the Holy Child Academy.
The Bohol Northern Star College had her share of presentation then came next the coronation and fashion show of the Ubay National Science High School.
The Loboc Youth Ambassador Band took Centerstage last Sunday thru the auspices of the Quota Club Int’l while the Assn of Barangay Captains had their show Monday night.
A bevy of young ladies competing for the Search for Miss Ubay ’16 was the attraction last night, sponsored the Rotary Club of Ubay. Today, the spectacular Rodeo will be back in the UCES Oval ground to start in the morning while the teacher will show their talents during the Dep-Ed night. On vesper night, the Ubay Parish Pastoral Council will present the Little Ms. Ubay ’16.
The Fluvial Procession will be on Vesper Day to start at 10 o’clock. The image of the Holy Child Jesus will be ferried by M/V Lady of Sacred Heart, a seacraft owned by the Medallion Transport, Inc. the carrier of passenger buses plying the landtrip to Metro Manila, courtesy of Gen. Social presentation during Feastday would include: Exhibition games of Inter-Brgy. Basketball; the Ubay-ubay Festival streetdancing: Ubay church Sinulog; Fireworks; Boxing at 7 p.m. to be followed by the Grand Disco by the LGU.
Added attractions on Post-Fiesta are the Tamiya Mini Four Wheel drive racing at the gym and the Motocross at 1 p.m. at the Francisco Farms, Camambugan.
