A 15-year-old boy landed in the hospital after he was allegedly shot by his girlfriend’s 21-year-old ex-lover in Tagbilaran City on Thursday night.
The Tagbilaran City police is eyeing jealousy as possible motive behind the shooting, said Staff Sgt.Renell Bibat.
According to Bibat, the minor, who was with his girlfriend, was hit in the arm during the gun attack allegedly carried out by one Jay Asoy, 21, near the Payag Restaurant at CPG East Avenue.
The victim was rushed to the Governor Celestino Galleres Memorial Hospital while Asoy, a resident of Tinibgan, Calape, surrendered to the Calape Police Station at dawn on Friday.
Asoy sought the assistance of his cousin Cpl. Madalon Asoy of the Inabanga Police Station who in turn accompanied him as he voluntarily surrendered.
Bibat said that a frustrated murder charge is set to be filed against Asoy who was already turned over to the Tagbilaran City Police Station.
However, Asoy did not surrender the pistol which he allegedly used in shooting the victim. (W. Maestrado)
