From just one last year, there will soon be four Land Transportation Office (LTO) branches in Bohol that process applications for new driver’s licenses, student’s permits and license renewal.
This was the assurance made by LTO 7 director Victor Caindec during an interview with the media during the inauguration of the agency’s new office in Garcia Hernandez on Wednesday.
According to Caindec, the LTO Talibon Extension Office started to cater to new driver’s license, student’s permit and license renewal applicants in January while the LTO in Garcia Hernandez will start next week.
Caindec said that the Mega Licensing Center in Alturas Mall in Tagbilaran City will also start to offer the same service soon but did not give an exact date.
The LTO is now just awaiting the approval from the Department of Transportation, he added.
Previously, only the Tagbilaran Land Transportation Office, which has long drawn flak from the public due to its office’s congestion and alleged slow-paced service, offered the processing of new licenses.
In the same interview, Caindec thanked the Alturas management for allowing the LTO to use a space in their mall for free.
Meanwhile, the LTO is also planning to establish an office in Tubigon. (A. Dodyora)
