A “noted” drug dealer in Panglao who was recently released from prison was arrested for alleged sale of illegal drugs.
Suspect Molly Arancon, 36, of Barangay Danao in Panglao who has been deemed a high value drug target in the town was arrested through a drug buy-bust operation near his residence at 10 p.m. on Monday.
According to Capt. Neon Alvarez, chief of the Panglao Police Station, Arancon was caught in possession of shabu worth P76,000.
Charges were filed on Tuesday against Arancon for violations against Sections 5 and 11 of Republic Act 9165 of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
Alavarez said that Arancon was arrested last year also for a drug charge.
He was released in Febraury this year after entering into a plea bargaining agreement.
Alvarez, based on intelligence reports gathered by police, said that Arancon sourced his drug supply through transactions with detainees at the Bohol District Jail (BDJ).
Several drug suspects who have previously been arrested were also accused of transacting with detainees at the detention facility, who in turn facilitated the delivery of their supply.
However, authorities have yet to reveal any progress on their reported probe on the issue. (A. Doydora)
