Members of the the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) on Friday will convene for the first time under the new administration to hold its inaugural session at the New Capitol in Tagbilaran City.
Vice Governor Rene Relampagos, as presiding officer, will lead the session.
According to SP secretariat Boni Quirog, each of the 13 board members will deliver an inaugural address.
The SP, during the opening session, will assign committee chairmanships and memberships and craft session rules of procedures.
The SP is still comprised of 13 members—three from the First District, three from the Second District, four from the Third District and one representative each from the Philippine Councilors League (PCL), Liga ng mga Barangay (LMB) and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK).
There are four returning BMs, Ricky Masamayor of the 1st District and Victor Balite, Jade Bautista and Elpidio Jala of the 3rd District.
The rest are neophytes, namely Aldner Damalerio and Lucillle Lagunay of the 1st District, Frans Garcia, Vierna Boniel-Maglasang and Restituto Auxtero of the 2nd District and Dr. Elpidio Bonita of the 3rd District.
The three ex-officio members are Romulo Cepedoza of the LMB, Arnulfo Turco, Jr. of the PCL and Christian Bolos III of the SK.
Of the ten elected BMs, Masamayor, Damalerio, Garcia, Auxtero, Bonita and Bautista are allied with Governor Arthur Yap and Relampagos while Balite, Lagunay, Maglasang and Jala ran under the ticket of defeated gubernatorial candidate Leoncio Evasco, Jr. (rt)
