An alleged big-time drug pusher was arrested by joint operatives of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) on Friday night in Panglao.
The suspect, identified as Albert Logrono of Barangay Bolod in Panglao, allegedly yielded shabu worth P170,000 during a drug buy-bust operation along a highway near his residence.
According to NBI agent Levi Royeras, the PDEA and NBI set up the sting operation after gathering intelligence reports indicating that Logrono was in possession of a large drug stash.
During the operation, Logrono allegedly sold shabu worth P20,000 to an undercover agent resulting in his immediate arrest.
Logrono admitted to authorities that he received shabu supply through transactions made with an inmates at the Bohol Disrtrict Jail.
He however did not divulge further information and noted that the drugs were just left with him by an unidentified man.
Authorities said that Logrono was arrested in 2017 and was released in April after he entered into a plea bargaining deal.
He is now under the custody of the NBI pending the filing of illegal drug charges against him. (W. Maestrado)
