A 26-year-old man was found dead in his family’s home in Baclayon on Tuesday following an apparent suicide.
Authorities identified the fatality as Michael Uy Ramo, a nephew of Baclayon Mayor Benny Uy.
According to Corporal Versyl Comigue of the Baclayon Police Station, Michael’s mother,
Concepcion, reported to police that she found her son hanging from the ceiling of their home in Barangay Poblacion at around 4 p.m.
Concepcion is a sister of Uy.
Comigue said that police were immediately deployed to the area and were accompanied by a physician who declared Michael dead on the spot.
Authorities estimated that Michael who hanged himself using a cable wire may have been dead for two days noting that his body had already started to bloat.
Comigue said that Michael’s body was not immediately discovered as he hanged himself at a hidden area in the house’s second floor.
Concepcion found the body after she saw blood dripping down to the ground floor.
Meanwhile, investigators found no indication of foul play behind Michael’s death. (A. Doydora)
