A lifeless newborn baby boy was found at a creek in Jagna on Tuesday morning, while police have invited for questioning a woman believed to be his mother, authorities said.
According to Staff Sgt. Leonardo Penido fo the Jagna Police Station, the newborn was found at a creek in Barangay Looc, Jagna at past 6 a.m.
The police were informed of the discovery by the Jagna Emergency Rescue Unit which believed that the baby was thrown into the creek.
Images posted on Facebook by Jagna resident Ric Sua showed that the baby appeared to have a wound in his head.
Meanwhile, the Jagna police Women’s and Children’s Protection Desk brought to the police station a woman who has been suspected of being the mother of the baby.
Penido said that interrogation was ongoing as of this morning. (AD)
