A 1.8-magnitude quake struck near Balilihan at dawn on Wednesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The temblor was recorded eight kilometers east of Balilihan at 4:20 p.m.
Phivolcs said that the earthquake was of tectonic origin and hit at a depth of 40 kilometers below the ground.
The earthquake had no significant intensities.
No aftershocks and damages are expected from the quake, the state seismic bureau added in the bulletin issued at 4:33 a.m.
Prior to the mild earthquake, three temblors jolted Bohol in the month of August.
The quakes on August 6, August 8 and August 11 had a magnitude of 2.2, 2.1 and 1.9, respectively.
Last month, 14 quakes jolted Bohol in a 20-day span from July 2 to July 22.
