The capsule laying of the Bohol Friendship Park at the Blood Compact site in barangay Bool will be held on Wednesday which is the 451st anniversary of the Blood Compact.
The event will also be the grand launching of “Saulog Tagbilaran 2016†and “Mutya sa Tagbilaran†where 15 lovely candidates will vie for the coveted crown.
After the rigorous process of preparing the details and specifications for the Program of Works of the Bohol Friendship Park, a multi-million project of the Tagbilaran City Government, the plan was finally approved by TIEZA’s Chief Operating Officer Guiller Asido two weeks ago.
The blueprint which outlines the electrical lay-out, water supply, piping connections, and plumbing works of the tourism site, has also shown the technical requirements for the specific attractions included in the grant from TIEZA, which includes the Bohol Heroes Heritage Park, Observation Deck, Ancient Well, Blood Compact Monument, Ampitheatre and the Parking Area.
What started as a dream will finally now come to a reality. It was last year when the discussions and negotiations for the project began. Technical experts from TIEZA headed by Senior Draftsman Odonilo San Juan, Civil Works Estimator Russel Soriano and Junrieh Papeliras attended a meeting with the Technical Working Group (TWG) headed by City Administrator Leonides Borja on the side of the City Government and Peter Dejaresco representing the private sector to discussed the specifications of the project.
City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA†Yap expressed that the breakdown of the program of works detailing the budget of each component should be analyzed. “The TWG should carefully discuss the allocation of the fund from TIEZA, specifically identifying which part of the initiative should be prioritized. The chosen component should be able to deliver the utmost advantage to the City and to the Tagbilaranons in all aspectsâ€, Mayor Yap said. City Engineer Pianicita Castolo said the structural design will be handled by Arch. Nino Guidaben, while the detailed engineering will be done by the City Engineering Office.  The pre-procurement process of the project is now underway. Construction is expected to commence 3rd quarter of this year.
