The implementation of “standard operating procedure†through inspection of jail visits has yielded alleged illegal drugs in district jails here and in Talibon town.
Jail guards intercepted a bottle that contained four packs of suspected shabu from the possession of Alvin Paquibot Logronio, 26, single and resident of purok 3-C barangay Tiptip of this city but a native of purok 6, barangay Nabuwad, Inabanga town.
Jail Officer 1 Roy Pangan, who discovered the items immediately sought help from fellow jail guards and police officers.
Documentation of the seized items was conducted and witnessed by representatives of the Dept of Justice, media and barangay officials. Logronio is now put behind bars at city jail, the report said.
In Talibon town, gate detail JO1 Cesar Garcia and other jail guards found illegal drugs believed to be shabu in the possession of a certain Necitas Paredes, who was about to see inmate Ariel Fernandez, police report said.
Seized from Paredes was a sachet of ‘shabu.’ Paredes is a widow and resident of this city, who brought the said drugs hid in a food container.
It will be recalled that ‘operation greyhound’ was launched by Bohol District Jail. The operation yielded a cellophane of suspected shabu from the possession of one inmate Edwin Carlos Canete, 30, married and resident of sitio Lanao, barangay Dao here.
Canete is facing illegal drug charges for violation of section 5, article II of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act or Republic Act 9165, police said.
