The Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Bohol subjected all its 503 employees including non-uniformed personnel to drug testing as support for the government’s drive to rid its offices of drug personalities.

According to acting provincial fire marshal Chief Insp. Raul Bustaliño, the BFP personnel were tested at the Office of the Provincial Fire Marshal from October 21 to 23.

Bustaliño himself was the first to be tested.

“Tanan na mga personahe, walay exemption,” he said.

The testing was overseen by a Cebu-based drug testing center, said Bustaliño, adding that the initiative was launched as support for President Duterte’s anti-drug campaign.

“Ang panawagan sa Presidente, na tanang ahensya sa goberno will do their share in the internal cleansing kining sa pagkuyanap sa droga,” he said.

Bustaliño hoped that none of his personnel will test positive for illegal drug use but assured that he will immediately announce the results of the massive drug testing once available.

Those found out to be drug users will face administrative sanctions.

“Og naa man gali, there will be corresponding actions that will be instituted against them by our regional director,” he said.

The drug testing was carried out together with medical and dental checkups for the BFP personnel as part of efforts to keep them fit.

According to Bustaliño, the checkups were conducted to determine if the men and women of the BFP are physical fit to carry out their duties. (R. Tutas)
