A 48-year-old man died after his motorcycle was hit by a still unidentified vehicle in an apparent hit-and-run incident in Garcia Hernandez on Thursday night.

The fatality, Eusebio Gallendez, was still rushed to the Teodoro Galagar Memorial Hospital in Jagna town but was declared dead on arrival, said Chief Master Sgt. Adrian Alo of the Garcia Hernandez Police Station.

According to Alo, witnesses saw Gallendez lose control of his motorcycle and crashed along a national highway in Barangay West Lungsodaan while driving towards Jagna at past 7:40 p.m.

A still unidentified four-wheel vehicle which was trailing Gallendez then accidentally ran over him.

“Nalatayan g’yud kuno sa ligid, mura’g ag o maoy na-igo,” said Alo, adding that Gallendez was not wearing a helmet.

Meanwhile, those who saw the incident were not able to identify the vehicle as they only noted that it was four-wheeled and “dark-colored.”

“Nakita na four wheels pero way naka-identify unsang sakyanana ug plate number,” said Alo.

Authorities are still continuing their investigation to identify and locate the hit-and-run driver. (AD)
