BISU ranks 2nd in teachers’ licensure exams

The Bohol Island State University (BISU) ranked second among top 10 performing schools in the September Licensure Exam for Teachers (LET) at the elementary level, making it into the list for at least eight years in a row.

Data released by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) on Sunday indicated that BISU-Tagbilaran, formerly the Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology, garnered a 95.05 percent passing rate.

A total of 96 out of 101 examinees from the school passed the exam.

BISU was only outperformed by the University of Southeastern Philippine – Tagum which scored 96.07 percent with 171 out of its 178 examinees passing the exam.

The Tagbilaran City-based university has been among the top 10 performing schools from 2012 to 2018. The table below shows its performances during the last eight years.

According to the PRC, 28,973 elementary teachers out of 92,440 examinees (31.34%) and 54,179 secondary teachers out of 136,523 examinees (39.68%) passed the exams given on September 29, 2019.

The exams were held in 29 testing centers in various areas in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Thailand.

These were administrated by the Board for Professional Teachers comprised of Rosita L. Navarro, chairman; Paz I. Lucido, vice chairman; Paraluman R. Giron and Nora M. Uy, members.
