Active in empowering the barangays, City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap has been consistently releasing financial assistance to Tagbilaran City’s 15 barangays. Last week, Poblacion III headed by Brgy. Capt. Odysseus Glovasa received Php600, 000 as financial assistance for the completion of the barangay’s Multi-Purpose Building. Also, Brgy. Capt. Nick Besas of Cogon accepted the transfer of the 20% Development Fund for the construction of the Health Center in Cogon worth Php633, 000.00. Barangays Dampas, San Isidro, Tiptip, and Bool have also received the financial assistance from the City Government last week. Aside from these development funds geared towards the installation of the programs and projects in the barangay level, Mayor Yap has also increased the subsidy of each barangay to Php200, 000.00 for their participation in the Saulog Grand Street Dancing Competition on April 26. The City Mayor has been consistently working towards the improvement of both the infrastructure and economic capability of the City’s 15 barangays, the rationale of which is the belief that the programs and projects of the City Government would not be successful without the support and commitment of every barangay.
