A man ended up in a hospital after he was shot by his brother-in-law amid an altercation believed to have been caused by a land dispute on Tuesday afternoon.
The heated argument erupted at past 2 p.m. leading to the shooting incident in which one Reynaldo Ayunan, 45, allegedly shot Leonardo Maquimot, 49, in Duero town, said Corporal Mark Quiamco of the Duero Police Station.
Maquimot sustained gunshot wounds in his hand and leg. However, he was still able to fight back and clobber Ayunan with a piece of wood.
According to Quamco, Maquimot was rushed to the Teodoro Galagar Memorial Hospital in Jagna town while Ayunan was at large.
Several hours however the Duero Police Station received information that Ayunan was also at the same hospital where he was treated for his head injury.
Police immediately responded and arrested Ayunan at the health facility.
The suspect is now under police custody and is set to be charged with attempted murder. (A. Doydora)
