As Governor Edgar Chatto clinched a sweeping victory over Loay Mayor Rosemarie Imboy, Boholanos start to air concerns that they think should be on the re- electionist’s priority list, urging him to focus on issues such as the widespread use and selling of illegal drugs and the increasing prices of fish and fuel.
This was the response of 20 listeners of DYRD “Inyong Alagad” when asked “With Chatto elected to his 3rd and final term as governor, what should be his first two priorities?”
Respondents also called on Chatto to speed up ongoing infrastructure projects pointing at the much delayed construction of the Abatan Bridge in Maribojoc and the concreting of the bridge approach road of Sombria Bridge in Cortes.
Callers expressed their concern on the status of projects delegated to the local government units that remained unfinished.
The Provincial Assessor’s office, Register of Deeds and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources were also included in the list of offices causing undue inconvenience in their daily transactions.
Chatto was also reminded to give relief to the public on the escalating prices of basic commodities and the low prices of agricultural products that have demoralized farmers.
Facilities and additional manpower needed by the Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) were also included in the concerns raised by the callers.
The phoned in survey was conducted this morning, Thursday, May 12, 2016 after Chatto thanked the Boholanos for giving him their confidence and support the past six years as governor and now another three years.
Chatto also assured the Boholanos continued commitment to the development of the province through HEAT Bohol that stands for Health and Sanitation, Education and Technology, Agriculture and Food Security and Tourism and Livelihood.
