Women who have survived violence and abuse and children with disabilities were the recipients of clothing, food, medicines and vitamins from Boholanos in New York and New Jersey.

The Sandugo USA Family Club of New York and New Jersey brought hope and touched the lives of these women and children through their pooled resources as their contribution to make a real lasting change to these abandoned women and children.

Atty. Justiniano Parras, representing the Sandugo USA Family Club of New York and New Jersey handed over five big boxes of clothes, food and medicines to the Bohol Crisis Intervention Center (BCIC) administrative finance officer, Helen Garcia, in behalf of Donna Belle Mante, BCIC Manager, Erma Laga, BCIC resident psychologist, Marilou Makinano, manager, Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center (STAC) and  Annbelle Jayco representing a non-government organization (NGO).

Parras told the officers of BCIC and STAC that this is the first donation to their organizations, recognizing the need to extend their assistance to ease the burden of caring for the women and children to pursue their dreams for  a bright future.

Current Sandugo president Josephine Josol Sarabosing and past president Marilou Galang expressed their appreciation to the group members for their full support and active participation in gathering the goods needed by both BCIC and Bohol-STAC.

Club director Clifford Galang was instrumental in dealing with BCIC and STAC officials for the distribution of the donated goods.

Director Justy Parras witnessed the opening of the balikbayan boxes.

Physical therapy-related instruments are expected to arrive shortly through the efforts of club members Jun and Anabelle Remolador, both physical therapists by profession.

A dedicated donor to DYRD/Bohol Chronicle “Inyong Alagad” for more than 25 years, members of the Sandugo Family have continuously shared with the less fortunate Boholanos the fruits of their success in their different professions. (Chito M. Visarra with reports from Rey Tutas)
