MARCH 2015 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES MUST ENROLL IN COLLEGE THIS COMING JUNE 2015 SY

Proem

The K + 12 Law will take effect on School Year (SY) 2016-2017.  Beginning on SY 2016-17 the Grade 11 of the two-year Senior High School will be implemented.

The Fourth Year High School students this coming SY 2015-2016 will not be allowed to go to college but must enroll in Grade 11.

CHED Ruling

According to the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), on SY 2016-17 no student will be allowed to enroll in college without finishing the 2-year Senior High School (Grades 11 & 12).  In effect their will be no First Year College students.

At first I thought that those who have already previously finished High School will be allowed to enroll in college.  It is not to be the case according to the K+12 law.

The Effect

The Fourth Year students who graduated last March 2015 and previous High School graduates who have not yet enrolled will have their last chance to enter college this coming SY 2015-16.  If they will not enroll this coming June 2015 they will be affected by the K + 12 Law.  They will be required to finish the 2-year Senior High School in order to enroll in college.

They Must Continue

 ADVERTISEMENT 

The students that can enroll in college this coming SY 2015-16 must by necessity continue on studying in college.  They do not have the luxury of stopping because they could not continue if they stop.

Supposing a first year college student will stop after SY 2015-16 and decides to take the second year college on SY 2017-18 by skipping SY 2016-17.

By CHED ruling there will be no first college students by SY 2016-17 because nobody has yet finished the Senior High School.  There will be only second year college students and above by SY 2016-17.

If the student who stopped will return in SY-2017-18 no college or university in the Philippines will be offering first year and second year college.  The lowest level in college will be third Year College.  So where will he (stopped student) enroll for his Second Year College?

In other words those who will stop studying in college will be left behind and will wait for another two (2) years to be abreast with those who will finish Senior High School.

Disadvantage

If the student who stopped will wait for two (2) years to be abreast with those who finished Senior High School, he will find himself in a disadvantage.

Many of the present college subjects, which the student who stopped has taken, will be placed in Senior High School.

The college curriculum for those who finished Senior High School will be different.  It will be a revised curriculum to fit the new students.

When the student who stopped will rejoin the college enrollees he may find that the new subjects will have pre-requisite subjects that he has not taken.  In other words he will have to take the pre-requisite subject in Senior High School.

Comment

I am not sure whether the above situation was taken into consideration by the Department of Education (DepEd) and the CHED.  The cards are really stacked against the poor and those who for one reason or another will be forced to stop or be delayed in his college education.

All the while the DepEd and the CHED are only addressing the problems of the Colleges and Universities on what to do with the college teachers when there will be lack of students for four (4) years or more.  The solution to this problem is not yet clear.  Maybe it is the reason why the problems of the poor students are not yet addressed properly.

However, my advices to those who have not yet enrolled in college is to enroll on June 2015 and if possible do not stop until you finished college.

      I agree. It’s another problem for them. Like for example they stop cause they can’t afford college so they have to find a job to earn for school and yet this is going to happen. They should rethink about this and discuss with fair judgment. They should think about those who can’t afford school but really want to. Like me and everyone else all over the philippines.

      idk if totoo yan kasi nung nag inquire ako sa school, yung admissions secretary na nila mismo nagsabi sakin na there will be no freshmen for yr 2016 🙁 And I have to wait for another 2 years para makapag enrol.

      Talagang nakaka asar. Kahit nga ako, (mag si shift kasi ako ng course) yung lilipatan ko sanang school hindi na rin tumatanggap ng transferee dahil wala na daw magtuturo nung mga subjects na naiwan ko sa 1st sem (2nd sem. na kasi). Paano na lang gagawin namin? -_-

    This is insane! I graduated HS this March 2015 and for some reason, I had to skip the first semester. Mageenrol na sana ako for 2nd sem and hopefully next year marecover ko ang mga subjects that I lack then proceed, ONLY TO FIND OUT ABOUT ALL THESE. I admit, at some part I wasn’t responsible pero how about the teachers? Should I blame my school for not explaining this K-12 thingy properply on how it will affect us in the future? Ang tanging sinabi nila is “finish 4th yr bc you will the last batch and next yr k-12 will be implemented!”. They’re unreliable maybe bc pati sila nalilito! Poor uninformed students… This K-12 wasn’t introduced to us properly. Now, most of us will be forced to enroll for Senior High instead or get a job for another 2 freaking years!!! I wanted to become a Pharmacist. ;(((

    Hello, i just wanna ask about this kasi i already finish my vocational courses then my parents want me to enroll again to finish 4 years courses. so balak ko kasi this comming SY16-17 ako mag papa enrol so my question now is how about sa mga transferees na tulad ko na mag eenrol ulit?     ngayon ko lng tlagang naintindhan ang K-12. bakit d ako at ang marami pa nainform about this?? d man lng nila bnigyang consideration yung mga kailangang mag stop at yung mga estudyanteng balak lumipat tulad ko dahil sa wrong choice of course!! so unfair…. 2nd year college nko, ngayon ko lng narealize na sobrang hirap sa architecture kya iniisip kong mag iba sana ng course.kung alam ko lng na ganito pala..dapat mas nag isip pako ng maiigi bago pasukin ang pagiging arki student.. sayang ng oras kung sakaling lilipat nga ako..ibig sabhin mag eenrol ako sa senior high. 2 yrs na nasayang sa arki + 2 years sa senior high + 4 years ulit sa bagong kursong lilipatan = 8 YEARS????!!!!!!!!!!!     Graduate po ako ng HS 2014. Then nagcollege din ako pero tumigil dn ako nung 1st semester. Tapos nag leave without notice nko. Hndi ko na mgawang balikan ung school kasi nahihiya na ako. So ang plan ko SANA is kumuha ng bgong credentials, is that possible? Di ba sla mgagalit or what. Gusto ko na talaga mag aral. Nakakapagsising nagstop ako. Kasi naman ayoko sa school at course na npunta skn kaya ganun. Help naman po what to do… ?

    Paano naman po yung mga nakapagtapos ng pag-aaral sa high school last March 2015 pero nag stop for a meanwhile beacause of financial problem like me po? Meron pa po kasi akong back pay from my previous school. Hindi po ibigay sa akin ang mga requirements like Form 137 that’s why hindi po ako nakapag enroll for the S.Y. 2015-2016. Masyado pa pong malaki kaya tumigil po ako para makapag-ipon para unti unting mabayaran ito. Pero papasok na po talaga ako for the next school year. Gusto ko pong makapagtapos na pag-aaral agad para matulungan ko po ang mga magulang ko at yung bunso ko pong kapatid.

    Hirap na hirap na po yung buhay namin kung papasok pa po ako or mag-eenroll for senior high, lalo po kaming mababaon sa utang. Honestly po medyo unfair po sa amin ito. Hindi naman po talaga ako abot ng K-12 curriculum. Sana bigyan pa po kami ng chance especially po sa karamihan na may mga ganitong cases.     THIS IS INSANE! Look, marami ang hihinto. And I know karamihan magtatambay nalang. And this could affect the economy, our economy.     Sana as long as High School graduate ka, pwede ka mag-enroll for first year college. Sana isipin ng government na hindi lahat afford namin. Yun lang naman gusto ko and I’m sure hindi lang ako, marami kami. I-consider niyo naman yung magiging future namin. Ngayong 2016 ay mage-enroll sana ako FOR JUST 1ST YR. COLLEGE kasi hanggang 5 years lang yung educational loan na inaplayan ng parents ko. Nang nalaman ko to, parang ang dilim na ng pag tingin ko sa future ko.     Parang nawawalan ako ng pag asa makapag tapos kasi sabi nila babalik daw ako ulit ng high school, i took Information Tech sa AMA Davao , nag stop ako due to nagkasakit Erpat ko .. 5 years na akong huminto and then balak ko sanang mag enroll ulit pero sabi nila balik daw ako sa high school :'( Sana naman po bigyan nyo naman kami ng Consideration.

      Wag ka mawalan ng pag-asa, may mga school na tumatanggap pa ng first year college kahit hindi ka mag senior highschool basta natapos mo yung highschool bago pa man i-implement yang k-12 na yan. Mag inquire ka sa mga schools or check mo website ng school na gusto mo pag-enrollan. 🙂

    Please, I’m begging to all high position for the CHED and HEls ect.. Please considered those High School Students Graduates BATCH 2011 I’m one of this batch kasi. Nag stop kasi ako after high school life, then work temporarily para makapag ipon to further sustain my college level. and now more spoilers and rumors pop up re. K-12 implements.. I agree for this for the sake standard.. But wag nyo napong idamai yung mga tapos na sa HIGH SCHOOL BEFORE…PLEASE DO K-12 IMPLEMENTATION FOR THE STUDENT WHO STILL IN HIGH SCHOOL LIFE; take look advantage for those students who finished secondary high school really wants to study for this year!

    nakapagtapos ako ng HS batch 2013-2014 tapos nag aral ko ng ABJournalism within 1 year lamang which is bacth year 2014-2015 dahil i found out that its not what i want so i decided to stop for the next year para makapag isip which is batch year 2015-2016 right? then nung nalaman ko na ang gusto ko mageenroll na dapat ako ng college 1st year which is now- batch 2016-2017 tapos nalaman kong wala ng first year college at OBLIGUE na kumuha ng senior high dahil nandoon ang mga pre requisite ng course ko. Tss. Grabe magiging dalawa na ang diploma ko in HS. Akala naman kasi nila may maidudulot. na magand aang K-12 eh puros probleema lang ey

    This whole K-12 thing is so stupid. Palpak ‘to eh. First of all, in-implement ito despite the fact na kulang ang ibang school ng mga classrooms and stuff. Hindi marunong mag-isip ang nasa likod ng K-12 na ‘to. This was totally a disadvantage to those students who had to stop because of financial problems and health issues. Hindi nila kinonsider ang mga ganitong cases nung napagdesisyunan nilang i-implement ang litsugas na K-12 na ‘to. I graduated last March 2015 and enrolled to college but I had to stop. Even if I had to wait for another 2 years, I doubt na makaka-catch up ako since it’s to be expected na there will be alien subjects and topics na only Senior High graduates ang nakakaalam at mkakagets. THIS IS BULLSHIT! Now if you wanna catch up with all the shits they learnt during their senior high years kailangan mo ding dumaan sa Senior High. Nakakainis tlaga!
