As the deadline for filing the certificate of candidacy draws near in October this year, the three-way race for congressional seat representing the third district is expected to be an exciting race among the wanna-bes.

Former Congressman Eladio M. Jala, who just retired from being a commissioner of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), is planning to make a comeback on May 2016 general elections.

If his plan pushes through, then incumbent Rep. Arthur Yap, who has been successful in his bid to be unopposed in 2010 and 2013, will be facing not one but two.

Jala, lawyer by profession and resident of Loboc the hometown of Yap’s wife, has served the district for three consecutive terms  (1998-2007). He was able to tap his son, now city councilor Atty. Adam RElson Jala, to succeed him as congressman in the 3rddistrict.
