Bohol will hold the distinction of holding another first in street dancing as it adopts its unique display of dance steps in what is popularly known as “Kuradang.”
Nine competing groups will vie for the top three awards, namely, the towns of Baclayon, Balilihan, Mabini and Tubigon; barangay Napo, Loon; Bohol Island State University (BISU) Balilihan campus, Holy Name University (HNU) and Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School.
Carmen Gatal, chair of the Kuradang dance and re-entactment competition said that as part of the austerity measures, there are only 70 performers, including staff in each group.
The performers will showcase their dance steps before judges positioned in front of the City Square, Wregent Hotel, Ramasola Studio and inside the CPG Sports Complex. They will start their dancing in the street at 3 o’clock this afternoon along CPG Ave, in front of the Philippine National Bank and winding their way at the CPG Sports Complex.
The winning groups can bring home P200,000, P150,000 and P100,000 for the first, second and third prizes, respectively.
