A proposal to put up a water treatment and reticulation system in Antequera has been submitted to the Sangguniang Bayan (SB) for their consideration.
The town’s water system serving 14,425 residents was devastated by the 7.2 magnitude earthquake that hit Bohol on October 15, 2013 with Antequera as one of the badly hit towns in the province.
Mayor Jose Mario Pahang told DYRD Balita that two corporations engaged in the water business – Ocean Eagle Energy Philippines and Biwater International Limited signified their intention to set up a municipal water system for the more than 3,000 households in Antequera.
The two companies have eyed Tubig Dako in Barangay Tabuan, a stream where water from nearby Inambacan Cave flows out which has a big potential as a water source.
A reticulation water system is a network of crisscrossing water pipes which carries potable water for domestic purposes.
Plans of the water companies includes supply of potable water to neighboring towns of San Isidro and Balilihan. (Chito M. Visarra and Rey Tutas)
