A Korean man who was teaching his companions how to swim was saved from drowning in a swimming pool at Hennan Resort in Barangay Tawala, Panglao on Monday morning.
The victim, identified as Jin Sik Yun, 50, slipped into a coma after the incident and was rushed to a hospital in Tagbilaran City.
According to the Panglao police, Jin’s companions at around 11:25 a.m. called a lifeguard who was able to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR on the victim.
Doctors said that the near-drowning incident might have been caused by a heart attack while it was unlikely due to an accident as the victim was swimming at the four feet section of the pool.
The victim currently remains in a comatose while he has been confined at the intensive care unit of a Tagbilaran hospital. (Allen Doydora)
