Police operatives from Cebu and Bohol arrested two men who yielded high-caliber firearms, ammunition and drugs in a raid in Barangay Tawala, Panglao.
The suspects were identified as 33-year-old Lloyd Lancer Gonzaga, a resident of Brgy. Tawala, Panglao, and 32-year-old Romarico Benegian, a native of Davao Del Norte living in the said village.
Policemen of the Crime Investigation and Detection Group in Cebu and Bohol and the Bohol Provincial Public Safety Company held the joint operation bearing a search warrant issued by Vice Executive Judge Hon. Jennifer Chavez Marcos.
The operatives seized from Gonzaga two .45 caliber pistols with four magazines and 25 live bullets, a .357 caliber revolver, a packet of suspected shabu and drug paraphernalia.
They also confiscated a 12-gauge shotgun, 5 live shotgun shells and a fully loaded .38 revolver from Benegian.
Benegian and Gonzaga could not present proper documents such as licenses to own and possess the seized firearms.
Charges against both suspects are set to be filed today at the Bohol Prosecutor’s Office. (Allen Doydora)
