A policeman of the Tagbilaran City Police Office (TCPO) is in critical condition after sustaining a gunshot wound to his head at dawn on Saturday.
The incident happened at the residence of victim PO1 Rommel Cano, an investigator for the TCPO traffic division, along Bustrillos St., Barangay Poblacion 3, Tagbilaran City.
Based on initial police investigation, the bullet went through his chin and straight out his forehead.
However, investigators are still facing a blank wall in the probe as no definite details on a possible suicide or assassination attempt were revealed to media.
One of reports that have surfaced indicated that Cano shot himself intentionally or by accident as his gun may have been fired inadvertently.

Other accounts noted that Cano was in a heated argument with an unknown suspect prior to the shooting incident.
The victim’s family and members of his household have not yet released a statement regarding the incident.
Meanwhile, police investigators continue to conduct a probe on the incident. (A. Doydora)
