On Wednesday, February 15, Atty. Mia Mascarinas-Green was ambushed and killed by four to five men at the corner of Zamora Street and Tagbilaran City – Corella – Sikatuna – Loboc Road in Tagbilaran City at 4:30 p.m, according to Tagbilaran City police.
Green who was driving a Toyota Innova was travelling with her three young children and their nanny when the assailants blocked her vehicle with two motorcycles and began shooting at her.
Tagbilaran City police chief Supt. Nicomedes Olaivar said that Green sustained seven gunshot wounds to her head and body while more than 27 spent .45 and 9mm shells were recovered at the crime scene.
Olaivar then identified Lloyd Lancer Gonzaga as the mastermind in Green’s murder and Romarico Benigian as one of the shooters.
On Friday, police operatives raided a hotel in Panglao operated by Gonzaga where the gunmen were reportdely holed up.

However, the suspects were able to elude police arrest while Gonzaga who was not at the hotel also remains at large.
