A 26-year-old Boholana ranked fourth in the March 2017 Physician Licensure Examination, based on tests results released by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) on Thursday.
Maude Tabigue, a native of Carmen, Bohol, was among the top performers in the examinations wherein 813 out of 1,317 examinees passed.
Tabigue, the first doctor in their clan, graduated from the Southwestern Matias H. Aznar Memorial College of Medicine in Cebu City.
She graduated with honors from Holy Spirit School in Tagbilaran City in 2006 before taking up BS Nursing at Silliman University in Dumaguete City.
Tabigue told ABS-CBN News that going home to Bohol and taking a vacation are on top of her to-do list after claiming one of the licensure exam’s top five spots.
According to the PRC, Karl Emmanuel Mercader, a graduate of the University of Perpetual Help System Dalta in Las Pinas City, clinched the top spot of the exam.
Meanwhile, the Far Eastern University-Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation topped all medical schools with an 88.20 percent passing rate, the PRC said.
The licensure examinations were administered in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cebu, and Zamboanga.
Tests were administered by members of the Board of Medicine including Dr. Clarita C. Maaño, chairman; Dr. Edgardo T. Fernando, Dr. Miguel L. Noche Jr., Dr. Eleanor B. Almoro, Dr. Eleanor J. Galvez and Dr. Ma. Graciela Garayblas-Gonzaga, members, added the PRC.
