Tagbilaran City Mayor Baba Yap and Vice Mayor Toto Veloso brought their complete slate to the Commission on Elections (Comelec) office in the city to file their certificates of candidacy (COC) to dispel rumors that their group was divided for the 2019 polls.
City Comelec Registrar Ariel Selma received the complete slate whose members filed their COCs under the National Unity Party (NUP).
The 10-man slate of candidates vying for seats in the Tagbilaran City Council is composed of incumbent councilors Adam Jala, Augustinus Gonzaga, Ondoy Borja, Jonas Cacho, Joseph Bompat, Greggy Gatal, Dulce Glovasa, Philip Besas and Vicente Polinar and newcomer Tim Butalid.
As of press time, there was no other bet for mayor and vice mayor.
However, there were three independent bets for city councilors, namely former Tagbilaran councilor Butchie Zamora, Adelaida Barafon and Calimbayan.
Meanwhile, Miles Lim, son of former Tagbilaran mayor Dan Lim filed his certificate of candidacy for congressman in the first district. He will be running against Governor Edgar Chatto.
