(UPDATED) Two earthquakes hit several parts of Bohol in the wee hours of Friday.
The first tremor, recorded at magnitude 3.4, struck six kilometers northwest of Balilihan at 3:49 a.m., said the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
It hit at a shallow depth of six km beneath the ground and was tectonic in origin.
According to Phivolcs, damages due to the quake and aftershocks were not expected.
A weaker earthquake at magnitude 2 later hit eight kilometers southeast of Catigbian at 5:07 a.m.
The twin earthquakes jolted Bohol just over a week after eight relatively weak quakes hit the province on March 25.
The strongest among the earthquakes was recorded at magnitude 4.5.
No damages were reported due to the series of tremors.
