It’s all systems go for the John Geesnell Baba Yap inter School Hoop Cup to open on July 25 at the Booy covered court at 8 AM.
A parade of all participating teams will precede the opening hostilities at 7:00 AM which will commence from Borja St. (Fronting Holy Spirit School) to the venue of the games passing through the main thoroughfares of the city.
Invited as guest speaker of the longest running basketball tournament is a sportsman and former congressman who is currently a member of the sangguniang panlungsod as its majority floor leader, ATTY. ADAM RELSON JALA.
He is to talk about the “YOUTH OF TODAY AND THEIR NEEDS.”
While our host and patron, City Mayor JOHN GEESNELL BABA YAP, who has been with us all throughout for 7 long years of continuous motivation of the youth to follow the TUWID NA DAAN slogan of HIS EXCELLENCY, PRESIDENT BENIGNO SIMEON COJUANGCO AQUINO, JR, will deliver inspirational message to hopefiully guide the youth in their desire to reach their aspirations and goals; to lead a life that is worth living for; or  if not atleast to become good leaders of the future.
The team captain, who as of this writing is not yet known, of the defending champions BOHOL WISDOM SCHOOL Â GOLDEN DRAGONS, will lead the oath of amateurism.
Different presentations from the participating school teams have been prepared to highlights the opening  program.
A drawing of lots will be held to determine which teams will play in the opener.
The emcee of the short program will be Ferome Almine.
The  7th John Geesnell Baba Yap inter School Cup is ably supported by Bohol Tropics Resort and Convention Center; Atty. Gamaliel Bonje; First Consolidated Bank; Grandmas Purified Drinking Water; and Booy Barangay Council.
